Ok, but isn't standard practice to check out using an external svn program (eg tortoise), and then load the project from the file system to avoid eclipse problems with creating a project before the checkout?

This is what I have done, so I don't have the repository in the svn view.

However, I will add it and see if that works

Cheers

You can change the password for a given repository by modifying the
properties on it on the SVN repositories perspective.
