OK. I have been using Subversion so long now, I didn't notice they had
added to CVS plugin. I am sure a patch to implement the feature would be
welcome, have at it!

FWIW, I have also used the PVCS VM plugin and they use that icon
decoration technique. I personally find that the technique of changing
the text label, as SVN and CVS do it is much easier to see.
