initial imports using subclipse

Is there an easy way to perform an initial import into an empty subversion repository using eclipse? I have created a repository, and it is showing up in eclipse. Or do I need to perform the first import using svn import from the command line?

Also, I want to do some work with branches... Is there a way to create branches through subclipse, or must I do this from the command line?

Assuming that I am using branches, does subclipse allow merging of branches, and is it possible to switch between branches when checking out files?

Thanks,
  Jon Harris.
