[Subclipse-dev] Subclipse 1.3.0 development releases starting soon

I plan on starting some Subclipse 1.3.0 development releases soon.
There are a ton of major changes in trunk. The most significant
however is that it is all dependent on SVN trunk and the future 1.5
release. Because of this, it pretty much is dependent on JavaHL for
the moment. I have not looked at SVNKit trunk lately but I assume
they have a lot of work to do.

Initially, I intend to only make these releases available via this site:

http://merge-tracking.open.collab.net/

The reason is the SVN trunk dependency. I am already making binaries
available for Windows and Linux on that site (maybe OSX). I am
concerned if we release this on our site, even a new update site, that
users will not appreciate that they are using pre-Beta software and
have to get binaries somewhere if they do not want to build the exact
right revision of SVN trunk themselves.

If anyone has strong feelings against this, let me know.

The above site is free and open to everyone, and once SVN releases an
official Beta or Release Candidate, I will start making releases
available on our site too.

Finally, another reason for releasing this on the CollabNet site is
that we have developed a merge client on top of Subclipse that we will
also make available for download. I have mentioned this in previous
emails.

This is a heads-up. I will follow up with details when I have them.
I am watching the activity in the Subversion trunk and kind of
deciding when to make a release based on that.
