Daniel, there's a guy on the core Subversion dev list writing a proxy
for the svn:// protocol in Java (ra_svn). He incidentally also recently
kicked off a project on tigris.org. ra_dav can be proxied using most
HTTP proxies. In both cases, caching proxies have the potential to
provide a scalability and performance boost.
