We are using the API's, we are just using them at a fairly low level. They
have also created some abstractions on top of these API's that may or may
not simplify things for us. I was interested to know if we had tried those
API's and moved to the lower level for a reason. Kind of like using SWT
for something that has a JFace option as well.
Panagiotis has filled in some of the background nicely.
