Getting started with svnClientAdapter

Hi you all,
Even if I am pretty much new to Eclipse, Subversion, Java, English and to
the whole... world, I have to perform an important task. I have to write a
simple Java application that deeply (and somehow automatically) browses
Subversion repositories in order to extract development process information
(I am working on some software metrics).
The first thing I need to ask is if this is the right mailing list or not. I
really hope it is.

In a previous attempt to put all the things together, I achieved to use some
basic svnClientAdapter features but it was ages ago. Now I am trying to
build up a project from scratch in Eclipse (WinXP) and the following
questions rise:
 - *what* do I really need?
 - *which* versions do I need?
 - *where* can I find the latest software?
 - *how* can I put everything together with the right paths, references,
sources, etc. ?

I know that these questions could be really boring for experienced
developers but every information would be very useful for me.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Paolo
