FWIW, that is what I meant by eliminating confusion. It seems like we
rarely have a good feel across the project for when these dates are going to
be. I do not have my heart set on any specific date, I just want to know
what it is going to be so I can plan accordingly.

As an example, I might be traveling the week of Sept 19th and if I know we
are going to roll the GA that week I can make arrangements (setup remote
access to my workstation) to be able to still test and sign the tarball.
