This is indeed true. I've attached my patch to the issue, and noted the reason it hasn't been committed yet, namely that the upgrade code was completely non-functional, so migrating from an old working copy to a new working copy wouldn't upgrade the properties. Lately, Greg's reworked the upgrade code, so this problem may be fixed, but I haven't tested it yet.

Feel free to chuck, use, or rewrite the patch if it suits your purpose.
