I wasn't planning to go looking for the other patches that you (or
someone) mentioned. If you think they would supercede this one, or
should be combined, or something, before I commit this one, then please
say so. I just want to help get the ball rolling by committing something
that looks useful. If the (your?) other patches are useful too, please
remind us of them, and I'll promise to at least have a quick look and
comment.

It would be useful if you could post links to (mail threads for) any
relevant patches.
