I won't get into all the details of the pros/cons of both...there are
tradeoffs to either way (and plenty of discussions on their merits all
over the internet). Personally, after 20+ years of programming, I
almost always (but not always) prefer dynamic libraries.

But if static fits your situation better, then use it.
