Hm? The web page(*) misled me then:
"You can subscribe users, anonymous guest emails, user groups and
other discussions to this discussion. Enter usernames, anonymous guest
email addresses, user group names or discussion email addresses
separated by commas."

I thought this was under "anonymous guest emails".

It even keeps a record of the thing, and I switched its "Notification"
to "My start page only" (knowing it won't ever log in :-P ). It was on
that record where I switched on the "Active" flag (and the "Trusted"
flag was already set from my subscription action).

Oh, it most definitely sends email. Thousands of them every hour, I'd
bet (it's the address that code.google.com uses for issue/svn
notification email). Lemme go see how...

Damn. Looks like gmail's "Show Original" does not show the "From ..."
line (which is the envelope, iirc). The From: header is definitely
codesite-noreply_at_google.com.
