xgettext bug (Was: Re: Current translation status and some message errors/suggestions)

That's a problem in xgettext resolving macros. At least two messages are
affected, maybe more:
$ svn help switch
$ svn help mergeinfo

The attached patch contains a workaround which I also want to backport
to 1.5.x. Comments?

After applying it I will update all translation via tools/po/po-update.sh
to ensure that not very outdated files are shipped. This is especially
useful as some translation projects and statistics will use our files
without knowing about po-update.sh. One example is
http://www.debian.org/international/l10n/po/rank

(You don't want to recieve patches against outdated files, right?)
