Since reviewing (and probably porting) the 'log -g' changes is going
to happen as part of this, I didn't think to address that point -- but
yes, I agree that it's the more important question.
(Well, I sort of feel that APIs have a special sacredness, but the
practical effects of losing this one post-alpha1 would be nil, you're
quite right.)
