This makes sense, let's do it. Starting the stabilization process and
freeing up trunk would both be good.

I propose we just pick a date/time. I will arbitrarily suggest
Wednesday Jan. 30th - 10:00 AM Pacific. If no one raises any
objections or counter proposals before then, make the branch.
Basically gives people all day tomorrow to speak up.
