So, everyone agrees this is a bug. It's apparently in Leopard rather
than svn per se, but it's manifest via svn. And I'm starting to
collect a modest size list of people not normally on dev@s.t.o who are
interested. So I'm going to file a bug in the svn bugbase for tracking
purposes.

Issue #3059

Who knows? Apple might come back with some recommend code change on
our side.
