searching svn

Hi

I would like to make a request for a new feature in Subversion.

I am a software developer. Let's say I remember adding/removing a particular
function/class at some point in the past to my source code and committing the
changes to my repository.

Now, some time later, I want to find the source file and revision number where
and when that change was first made. Furthermore, I have no idea what the
name of the source file is, as I tend to add/delete/move source files as I
refactor my code. So the file I'm looking for might not even exist in the
head revision. So I can't just look at the diffs on a particular file.

At the moment, the only way I can think of find this information is by dumping
the repository as text to a file and using file search tools.

Would it be possible to add this type of search feature to Subversion? Or can
you suggest a better alternative?

Todd.
