Why would the script be scrapped? I would assume that such a script
would be in "contrib" or maybe "tools", and only rely on (stable)
APIs... we might decide later to make the script *redundant* by adding
similar features to the core CLI tool, but we wouldn't be able to
break it. However, we would get more UI freedom by presenting it as
an optional add-on to svn and not the official "blessed" way to do
things.

To put it another way: we're happy to throw multiple scripts that
accomplish similar goals with different mechanisms into the
contrib/tools directories, but we're not going to add three different
ways to do the same thing to 'svn'.
