Cool, it'd be awesome to get this feature in 1.5! Have all of the
design/UI discussions around this run their course? I'd hate to see
it get derailed at the last minute because someone missed what you are
planning to do.

The last I remember you were proposing a new syntax and people raised
some questions about how various shells would handle it. I did not
see any objections, just questions, that I do not recall were
answered. I was not sure if this meant you went back to look for an
alternative or were just plowing ahead.

I assume you are not attempting to make all subcommand understand the
new syntax? I know that was expressed as an idea of something that
would be good. I'd suggest it could wait for a 1.6 release unless the
effort is not that great.
