Well, the online svnbook.red-bean.com has a whole chapter on getting
started with SVN development (as a 3rd party user of the libraries,
that is.) Definitely read that. Then go read svn_fs.h in the svn
source code; that's the 'crown jewel' API that explains how the
entire filesystem works, and what the ruby bindings are wrapping
around. That should clarify a lot of things for you.
