+1. I think this is a job for the client code to deal with - GUIs
like TortoiseSVN wouldn't really have issues with this - only the
command-line client has the possibility for pilot error like this.
Yes, TortoiseSVN and others *might* be able to paint themselves in
such a corner, but...feh. This solution is good enough... -- justin
