500 for work on atomic renames?

$7500 for work on atomic renames?

Maybe either I have taken a poor approach, or everyone is really not
interested. I seek enlightenment. :)

Would $7500 get us anywhere at all? Or, what would it take? Is
everyone too busy with 1.5 right now? Thanks for any pointers
or suggestions. This will help our nonprofit with a genealogy
effort--we have a lot of development going on w/ branches
and merges that will be affected by the rename dataloss problem.

Best,

- Luke
