I spoke too soon -- after some email exchange with pburba, the
warnings are still occurring on a real disk. I just noticed them on
the ramdisk because it filled up.

Given that, I doubt this is a regression and suspect it also happened
in 1.4.3 but went unnoticed (since it only causes failures if the disk
fills up), so I'm still ok with releasing as long as everyone else is.

I'll re-test 1.4.3 this weekend when I can, to see if it also gets the warnings.
