Both, though obviously performance with Explorer is much worse. My primary
experience with NTFS and lots of small files is a shopping cart application.
What I haven't tested is sequential vs random access of predetermined filenames.
   That's why I'd really rather write a utility that timed various scenarios on
different filesystems so we can get a good handle on how Subversion itself is
likely to behave.
