I don't really know. Instead of opening the editor to enter a check in comment it just writes

   Aborted

Is that a crash or is it a regular message? I don't know.

The common parent (/) IS part of the same WC. The WC is the entire file system. The repository is in an ignored subdirectory of the WC.
