xdelta hadn't actually occurred to me at all. It was new in 1.2, yes?
Do we have any reports of this problem occurring on anything other that
Subversion 1.2.1/Linux?

I tend to agree that if it were xdelta, we would have expected to see
a problem with BDB repositories as well, though I know next-to-nothing
about BDB, so perhaps a problem there wouldn't have manifested itself
in the same way.
