After talking to maxb about it I decided to go with a branch
(http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/branches/ra-replay-dev), but I
suspect it will be pretty short lived (famous last words), and since
it's new code it's not like merging it in will be difficult or
something (more famous last words...).
