I was not following this thread. Is the question just whether the API
ought to take a full path like C:\project\.svn or just a folder name like
.svn? If so, then I think the latter is fine. As you said, it is trivial
to obtain this value from a full path.

I still cannot envision the scenario where I will need this function in
Subclipse anyway. We do very little directly with the WC. We are mostly
calling library functions and these details are buried in there.
