I just completed compiling and testing the Perl bindings and everything
finally looks good. It appears that some conflict between the
system-installed APR/APR-UTIL and Neon libraries vs the in-tree copies
was causing the problem (or possibly the prior bad modules living in the
Perl tree). I'm going to stop on the way home and get a live chicken so
I can cast out the demons infesting my home computer (and then I'll make
soup!).
