Ok, I'll rephrase myself ;-).
The feature doesn't target anyone who actually wants to *release* from
a working copy where they have *purposedly* checked out different
revisions of different files.

The feature DOES target everybody else, as long as they do an update
on their trunk or checkout a tag before releasing.

Better?
