But we still would know. If the names aren't listed in the log message for
this particular revision, they're still in the diff for this revision. How is
that insufficient?

Oh well. Log messages always require a subjective judgement of what level of
detail is useful. I'll note your preference and adjust my expectations
slightly towards yours.
