Ah, well, ofcourse, but that's a semantic we currently don't (and
can't) communicate between client and server.

To be able to implement this, we need a better description of what you
think the feature should do. For example: what should an old server
do, if it were to receive a new 'unversioning' request? Or, the other
way around, what behaviour do you expect from an old client when a new
server sends an 'unversioning' change to the client?

There probably is a lot more to be defined, but these are among the
essential ones.
