It all makes sense to me.

The one thing that I have not seen, and personally, I think this
discussion would have been easier if this was done from the start, is to
provide a mocked-up sample log file. Not so much that I care about what
it will look like, but as an example of the sort of information you
envision logging. If this were to be done, it might have cleared up some
of this dicussion about error logging vs. functional logging etc...

I think that is also an important part of the spec.
