Well, there's the very old

   http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=511

...which is tangentially related.

The problem is that we don't have a format for expressing arbitrary
tree differences in a Subversion repository yet. (Efforts are under
way to fix this, but they're in the early stages.)

Did you have a particular XML DTD in mind?
