How about "Binary packages are usually available about a week after
Subversion source releases. "?

Oh, wait, I took that off the page with the download links! Which contains:

"The Subversion project does not officially endorse or maintain any
binary packages of the Subversion software. However, volunteers have
created binary packages for different distributions and platforms."

As well.

I know, it's not a nice response either, but if these requests don't
stop (I perceive them as whining), why would I want to maintain
Windows builds? (I know, brane, who currently is the one actually
releasing the binaries, had his fair share of it.)

Well, I guess we provide an indication already, but maybe we should
point to the downloads page in the release e-mail.

bye,

Erik.
