Working copy 'xsd' not locked

Hi all,

Does anybody have an english translation of the following error:

Graham-Leggetts-Computer:~/src/standard/monaco-xml-III/src minfrin$ svn
update xsd
subversion/libsvn_wc/lock.c:646: (apr_err=155005)
svn: Working copy 'xsd' not locked

I as a human have no idea what action to take if the working copy isn't
locked, and the message gives no clue as to why it might not be locked.

The directory xsd has been added to svn, but the directory contains no
.svn directory (in an effort to fix an svn add that added way more files
than it should have, I have moved it out the way).

If I try "svn update xsd", it gives the weird "not locked" error. If I try
and "svn add xsd", it says the file isn't under version control.

I would like to tell svn to forget about it's local copies of what's added
and what's not added locally, and refresh everything from scratch from the
server - is there a command that does this?

Regards,
Graham
