Nope. You can represent arbitrary strings of bytes using _encoding_:

        http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-2/

e.g. hexBinary (3.2.15) or base64Binary (3.2.16).

But XML is not intended to be a generalized file format for
non-character data...
