I don't care if it was discussed to death here. It's a silent change
from a user perspective. There is inadequate documentation of this
change. In fact about the only people who are aware of how the peg rev
stuff works is developers. Nor did the changelogs explain how this
change impacted people. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the
debate. I should have. Because I would have vetoed any change that
changed the defaults without a whole lot of effort to educate users
about that change.
