I am sorry for that. I use MS Outlook as e-mail client and I do not know
where I can change that setting. Maybe someone
on the list knows how to teach that to Outlook.

No sorry, I did not. I do not yet have setup all requirements to build and
make SVN completely on Win32, only the part needed for TortoiseSVN. So I
did not run the tests. I do not even see where the code is used that I
changed, I just corrected what I believed was wrong (in a kind of dry run).

I just wonder - if that was really a bug, how come it did not show up?
Because nobody stored 2 Gig text-files in a repository, or did I fix dead
code?
