Sure, just set the appropriate variables in ~/.subversion/servers. I
believe that 'make check' uses its own runtime area.

By the way, if you're really writing a whole new server-daemon, maybe
you'd want to discuss it with the list? Explain the design, and so on?
  That's a pretty big deal.
