I'm not aware of any particular plans to do this, but I agree that it would be useful.

Please could you file an issue in the issue tracker (if there isn't one already).

Other developers, do we already have a quoting mechanism that we could use here? It's not just semicolons that aren't currently supported, but presumably newlines and other things too.
