I might get a chance to look at this on the plane today.
Interestingly, it's been so long since I ran the script, that upon
browsin the code, I see some stuff that definitely looks dead, but I
also see stuff that looks like it does some zeroing.

So, I'm scratching my head here, trying to figure out exactly what I
*did* write. :-)
