I think JavaHL is actually workable for most people - and seems to be what
people have latched on to instead of SWIG Java bindings. I'm not quite sure
where dlr is on the SWIG Java Bindings - I think he's swamped with other stuff
though. *shrug*

I think our official response should be: "If it works for you, most excellent.
If not, patches are definitely welcomed." ;-) -- justin
