Ok, I have a follow up question.

For the guide to be accepted into the Gentoo Documentation Project, it
needs to be under the Creative Commons - Attribution/Share license. And
rather than assuming the CC-by-SA licence is compatible with yours, the
Gentoo doc developers suggest I ask to be able to use parts of the Book
in a cc-by-sa document.
