Has anyone had success in building subversion with VS .NET 2003

I have been trying to build subversion with Visual Studio .NET 2003 but with no success.
Possibly because I'm not a C++ developer and very seldom compile C/C++ from source on windows (I can manage on Linux)
When building the command line client only "svn" it gets an error when building svn.res, rc.exe complains about not beeing able to find apr_general.h and strings.h.

Has anyone managed to successfully build in VS 2003 then I'll be happy to learn from you.
