I want this one into the 1.0 stabilization branch. Do I have to fill in a
request into it's STATUS file or goes this under "allow trivial (e.g.,
version-bumping) commits in 1.0?

I have tested dist.sh not only from a working copy (making tarballs) but
also on cute, ugly, bad and innocent mouses, cats and rats. I'm pretty
sure that "dist.sh" are safe for humans.

BTW, Here is the difference of gz and bz2 tarballs:
   subversion-0.36.0.tar.bz2 5.9 MB
   subversion-0.36.0.tar.gz 7.2 MB
