I believe we're "doing fine", not that the messages are fine. Could they
be improved? Most definitely. There is a lot of polish that can be applied
for a 1.1 release, but which I'm not interested in seeing for 1.0.

All IMO, of course, but that is exactly what the votes in STATUS are all
about...
