I assume you mean only in the case where the server is running with -u,
right? Otherwise we'd have a backwards compatability problem. Anyway,
that sounds reasonable to me, but if we're going to do it, it would be
nice to do it sooner rather than later, so there is no backwards
compatability issue at all.
