All of the FS internals are extremely well documented. It just happens
to be reasonably intricate and sometimes subtle code, and cmpilato is
the most familiar with it. The same could probably be said for Philip
Martin and the WC, or Greg Hudson and ra_svn, or Greg Stein and ra_dav,
or Sander Striker and the diff library; the list goes on and on.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a more maintainable or better
documented project of this scale and complexity.
