I agree with all of this. But isn't it sufficient to provide an
unlock command (as RCS and ClearCase do)? All this lease-hold stuff
is pretty complicated, looks like a lot of code, and includes some
rather ... oh, let's call it "hand-holding" ... attitude toward
developers that doesn't sit well with me.
